Subjective and Objective Films

The film that I decided to use as an example of a subjective film is “The Mighty Ducks” that came out in 1992. This is a pretty obvious example, because throughout the film not to mention the very opening scene is Gordon Bombey played by Emilio Estevez missing the game winning penalty shot as a child. And because of this he is driven in his adult life to beat his old team and coach.

Now my choice for a objective film was “The Day After Tomorrow” which came out in 2004. The story line follows a boy and his father through thier struggles to find each other in the midst of a huge planet altering storm. With no assumptions about how or whats going to happen apart from what you can see in the present.

There are alot of movies now days that dont follow the old Classic Hollywood style of film. But one that stands out from the rest and was a pioneer in new age film. Now this movie is “Pulp Fiction” by Quentin Tarantino. It was one of the first new age film that have become so popular today.
